Sarah Carpenter & Studio is a full service architecture and design studio with work across the residential, hospitality and commercial sectors.

We are not beholden to a signature style, but rather a way of working that is uniquely personal to each project. Our expertise in both architecture and interior design allows our studio to work adeptly and holistically.

Our studio philosophy is deeply influenced by the opinion that design is only one piece of the pie and should be in service to the big picture, which for us, always centers around our Clients and their ambitions.

We intentionally keep our team small and focused so that we are able to curate our work and collaborate with our Clients in a way that allows them to feel supported and deeply connected to the process.

SC&S was founded by Sarah Carpenter and is run out of her studio in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Sarah was raised on a farm in West Texas. Upon graduation from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, she received her Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP) where she has acted as an Adjunct Professor.  Prior to founding SC&S, she worked in the offices of OMA, Leong Leong, Bernard Khoury Architects and Avroko.  Sarah is a registered architect in the state of New York.
